This group was classified within the movement New Wave of the 80s, but what they do are not commercial songs. The singer, Ian Curtis, committed suicide after the recording of this their second and last work.

Morphine - The Night

A group with a sound very special and entirely personal. Their music is essentially the low voice of Mark Sandman accompanied by a sax, a bass of two strings, and drums. Listening today, after some time, it reminded me the music of groups that choose Quentin Tarantino for his movies.

Morphine - Good

Their first album in 1992. In this record dominated the austerity. Despite this, is a good example of how they can do something, let say, good, with minimal instrumentation. The Night (above) is their last album in 2000. Their leader, Mark Sandman, died of a heart attack while acting in a stage in 1999. After that the group disappeared.

Phideaux - Doomsday Afternoon

I bought this CD because in the recommendations of Amazon said that who listened this also heard King Crimson, Yes, Porcupine Tree, etc. .. It is very good. Edited in 2007. They make a progressive rock with very good melodies of voice, using orchestral arrangement, piano, and yes, also guitars. But these elements is rare to find in current groups. Highly recommended.

Magma - Attahk

This group had a style so particular and different that had to invent a category for them alone, the Zeuhl (a term from the Kobaïen, language neologista in which means "heavenly"). From french, led by its founder and a permanent member the battery, singer and composer Christian Vander. This record, Attahk, was published in 1978.

This record is very good, but the piece that gives title to the album, Eternal, is extraordinary. 17.40 Minutes in which you are immersed in a magical and masterly improvisation. Brunford Marsalis (saxophonist) comes from a family of musicians. Their brothers and their parents, all greatsin the recent jazz (we'll publish more of this surname Marsalis). Written and published in 2003.

A modern jazz of the year 2007, but with influences of classic jazz. The first theme is very powerful with the voice of the singer. The left of the album keeps the level high.

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Apocalypse

To make this record John McLauglhin met more than 15 jazz musicians-fussion of that time. McLauglhin was calling himself Mahavishnu, by his incursion in the Induism. He became an skinhead but, fortunately for all, not ceased to play the guitar, although his work were spiritual messages. Apocalypse is perhaps the best of the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
